I started this blog to document my travels and journey during my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. I thought it would be a good place to write about all the emotions I’m feeling during the intense training as well as document all the fun things I see and do while exploring new countries.
A space I can look back on time and time again and remember my great trip! I also hope to provide insight into what a Yoga Teacher Training is about along with some behind-the-scenes intel. I want this blog to be a place where other yogis, or people interested in getting started, can ask and answer questions about everything yoga, fitness, spiritual and wellness related!
The last three years of my life I’ve been working in the oil & gas industry in Western Canada while continuing to maintain a strong yoga practice and fitness regime. My job as an Emergency Medical Responder has me on the move a lot so 90% of my activity is “home-based”, meaning I take my yoga mat and exercise equipment with me everywhere I go! I also really enjoy cooking and I try my best to eat a healthy diet with as many real, whole foods as possible. I like to know exactly whats going into each dish I make. I don’t eat at fast food restaurants or anything with lots of preservatives in it. These things combined keep me looking, and feeling even better!
I also believe a strong and happy mind is just as important as a balanced diet to leading a healthy lifestyle. Some of the things I incorporate into my daily regime are meditation, self reflection and journalling. I like to use downtime, such as driving and cleaning house, to listen to podcasts that expand my mind and help me learn about new ways of looking at life, success and happiness. Finding quiet time to spend with yourself is something I make a priority everyday.
A lot of new adventures and opportunities are about to come my way and every person I talk to says that this trip will change me. I love who I am right now but I’m open to becoming an even better person in all areas of my life!
